Altar Guild and Flower Guild
The Christ Church altar guild isn't the formal, white-gloved organization of yesteryear.
Although times have changed members perform duties similar to those of their mothers and mentors, on a schedule more conducive to current life style.
The altar guild is a dedicated group of women and men who work together in reverence, humor and friendship to prepare for regularly scheduled and special day services.
They assist the clergy and lay ministers, behind the scenes, by caring for linens and vestments, polishing brass and silver and ensuring that candles, books, wafers and wine are ready for each service.
The flower guild uses their special talents to decorate the sanctuary. Each week they use fresh flowers and plants in creative designs, to glorify God and to enhance the service experience.
The members of the altar guild and the flower guild view their work as a privilege, a ministry and an offering to God.
The altar and flower guilds would be delighted to welcome all who would like to share in one of these rewarding services.
