Our Core Values and Beliefs
Scripture:
We believe that the fundamental truths found in scripture are inspired by God and written by man. We have faith through these words that God has given us grace, and that only through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ can we accept that grace and be forgiven. We believe that in response to Christ's act of redemption we actively use our faith in everyday life. There are two sacraments ordained by Christ in Scripture, which are to be practiced by the Church: Baptism and the Eucharist (also known as Holy Communion and the Lord's Supper).
Tradition:
The Church is Holy and Apostolic, built on the foundation of Christ and held together by the bricks and mortar of 2000 years of Christian men and women who have served Christ in their daily lives. Tradition helps give us a sense of place and belonging. We believe that there are five other sacraments brought about by God inspired tradition. They are Marriage, Confirmation, Ordination, Confession (Reconciliation of a Penitent) and Anointing (also known as Unction or Healing).
Reason:
We believe that God has made us in His image, with an intellect able to accept or reject His Truth. We are to use our hearts and minds, with God's help, to better understand God's call for us and to apply it to our lives.
